Reviews
From the Supplier (The vice president of Lapain Co., Ltd, Ms Eri KUBO)
- It all started when representatives from the Republic of Burundi reached out to us through the Supplier List on Mozuyan Mall.
- Our company has always been capable of providing comprehensive support for food manufacturing in English, with a constant focus on international markets. Additionally, as a local Osaka-based company, we were hoping to have some opportunities to get involved in the EXPO – that is how we decided to register our company on the Mozuyan Mall.
- Burundi, a country with which we have had the honor to work together, is one of the poorest countries in the world. Due to the difficulty in securing food stuffs, the country has a culture of valuing resources at hand. This culture aligns with our company’s long-standing theme of “mottainai” (similar to “waste not, want not”), and our upcycled products, based on this theme, were highly received, leading to our successful contract to operate the café and develop products for their pavilion.
- The café will offer “Canelé Parfait” made with high-quality coffee and organic honey, both of which are specialities of Brundi. The parfait will be topped with our upcycled product, “OKARADA” granola, which is made from tofu byproducts.
- Burundi is looking to strengthen its economic activities in Japan. We are grateful for this connection made through the Mozuyan Mall and will do our utmost during the EXPO to promote the country. We hope to continue our relationship even after the EXPO’s conclusion.
